December 2009:
P & I's 10th Anniversary - Generating a Decade of Power
Thanking everyone for their continued custom and support...

P & I Generators Ltd celebrated 10 years this November since Paul Benfield founded the business.
On the 21st November they invited a host of family, friends, staff, suppliers and customers who have helped with P & I's amazing
progress to their '10th Anniversary - Power in the Tower celebrations at Portsmouth's prestigious Spinnaker Tower in Gunwharf
Quays (another customer of P & I's!)
From his office at home Paul started selling generator spares all over the world. When demand increased to supplying, maintaining and servicing
sets domestically he formed a partnership with former Dawson Keith engineer Paul Terzza. The firm relocated to Waterberry drive in
Waterlooville and when stock outgrew those premises the company moved to its current unit at Dakota Business Park, Havant in
September 2008, increasing the quality team of office and engineering staff in the process.
These days P & I have have an ongoing contract with Morrison Utility Services and also have work with Southern Water Services Ltd
as well as provide for NHS Hospitals and football clubs such as Queens Park Rangers and the local area's very own Premiership team,
Portsmouth Football Club.
P & I's annual turnover is nearing the £1.6million mark and only last January they secured a major contract worth £½million
with the Highways Agency to provide and maintain twenty five 40KVA generator sets at outstations across the country. Since then they
have become official Honda Agents, covering the easily manoeuvrable small portable generator ranges.
Of the Spinnaker Tower celebrations, Managing Director Paul Benfield says:-
"This was our chance to say thank you for the support we have received over the last ten years and continue to receive at P &
I. We saw faces old and new at this celebration, from employees to our revered customers and suppliers."
Technical Director Paul Terzza added:-
"This was a great occasion to meet with old friends and to raise a glass to continued business with the intention of us all reconvening
for P & I"s 25th Anniversary!"
Happy 10th Birthday P & I, and to many more...
P.S. P & I are proud to announce that, on the night, they managed to raise £400 in a raffle for the provision
of a special chair for Louis, a little boy with Williams Syndrome. Congratulations to Neil Hancock of Morrison Utility Services who won a
signed FA Cup Portsmouth FC shirt.

October 2009:
Southampton Walk to Cure Diabetes, Sunday 27th September 2009
Team P & I Generators stepped out for a 5km walk through the fields and woods surrounding Paultons Park to raise money for the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and enjoyed a fun packed family event with entertainment such as music and refreshments
for all registered walkers and plenty of entertainment for the children.
What a great opportunity we had to help make a difference to the lives of over 350,000 people in the UK who have type 1 diabetes - including our
colleagues Paul & Jonathan Terzza and Dave Lawty.
The walk was designed to be an achievable distance for young and old alike - which suited the directors' fine! We were
delighted to be part of this worthwhile event and happy to donate one of our 10kva hire generators for the DJ at the event.
For more photos from the day please visit the JDRF site using the image link below. Thanks for your support.

August 2009:
P & I Generators have made the Skills Pledge!
P & I Generators are proud to announce that we are part of the nationally recognised
Skills Pledge.
The Skills Pledge is a voluntary commitment by the leadership of a company to support all of its employees to
develop their basic skills, including literacy and numeracy and to work towards relevant, valuable qualifications
to at least NVQ Level 2 (equivalent to 5 good GCSEs).
The purpose is to ensure that all staff are skilled, competent and able to make a full contribution to the
success of the company. Research shows that one of the keys to a productive, successful business is having a
skilled and competent workforce. The Skills Pledge is an opportunity for our business to show publicly and
demonstrably the importance we place on investing in the skills of our staff.
The Skills Pledge recognises that everyone - the employee, the organisation and the Government - need to
invest more in skills.
P & I Directors Paul Benfield and Paul Terzza were happy to endorse this corporate commitment covering the
whole company.
"We are making a public commitment to enable our staff - in whichever way works best for us - to gain
the basic skills and competencies that are valuable in supporting our business needs and future employability,
and to achieve relevant qualifications to recognise those skills" says Paul Benfield.
Paul Terzza explains "Its value is a signal of voluntary commitment and partnership between management and
employees to develop the skills of the staff and so support the success of the organisation."
P & I see this as an excellent indication to our staff that we support their opportunities to be the best
that they can be.
